Tracking HANA Cloud Portal sites with Google Analytics (and others)

A few weeks ago we have announced Google analytics in SAP Portal 7.3 by fouad.hjiyer2 as the blog of the year. The topic inspired us to get this functionality into cloud portal, but this time with simplicity in mind.

It was added to all HANA Cloud Portal accounts about two weeks ago, in one of our regular updates where we push new functionality every 2 weeks.

Here is how it works:

Step 1) open the site settings pane of the site you'd like to track

Step 2) paste the JS snippet you got from Google, Piwik, Yahoo or any other JS-based tracking tool into the box

Step 3) publish the site (via the publish pane)
