Using Text Joins to enrich Attributes with "Texts" in SAP HANA with SAP BO Analysis Office

Hello Folks,

In this blog, i will walk you through on how to enrich the Attributes with "Texts" in SAP HANA with SAP BO Analysis Office as reporting tool.

Problem Description:

To enable the description for “Country Key” column in KNA1 table using T005T table by “Text Join” and using “Label Column” to enable “Text and Key” for the same using SAP BO Analysis office.

As shown below We can get the Country for each customer number but we cannot get the description of the country here:

To enable the country description, let us create a attribute view named “AT_TEXT” as shown below:

Joining Conditions:

KNA1.MANDT = T005T.MANDT

KNA1.LAND1 = T005T.LAND1

Language column for Text Join: SPRAS

Hence we finished our attribute view; let us now preview the data.

Output:

Now Joining this attribute view to the fact table using Analytic view and enabling the country description columns in AN_TEXT

Data Preview:

Connecting to Analysis Office:

1) Selecting the data source to login to the relevant SAP HANA database as shown below:

2) Choose the data source and login as shown below:

Select AN_TEXT

Output in AO:

Note: For Calculation Views we have to use keep the texts in “Description Mapping” column as shown below:
