Kolkata made a resounding statement in the opening match of the 2014 Indian Premier Twenty20 tournament thumping the defending Champions by 41 runs. A tremendous tandem of batsmen in the first innings and some brilliant bowling in the second innings stifled the Indians chase and propelled the Knight Riders to the top of the table.
