The Internet of Things (IoT) was the topic at this Customer Innovation Panel with representatives from SK Solutions, IFM and Bosch. They showed great examples of how the IoT can be leveraged to optimize processes and discussed current and future IoT opportunities.
SK Solutions, a provider of 3D anti-collision software showed a live demo of a crane collision avoidance system from a construction site in Dubai. Sensor data from 37 cranes is stored and analyzed in real-time using SAP HANA. A monitoring dashboard using predictive analytics helps crane operators to avoid crane collisions and so maximizes safety.
IFM is a manufacturer of sensors and has deep experience with connecting machines to SAP solutions.
Bosch demonstrated an augmented reality showcase using a combined technology of smartphones and smart glasses from Vuzix to optimize picking processes in a warehouse.
