In this week's edition I put the focus to some further reading:

Recent Publications of Interest

Let me first share links to a set of IBM Techdocs white papers. These links were also posted in the DB4 SDN forum:

Following the updates from the IBM i zone at IBM developerWorks I became aware of an interesting article by Mark Anderson: Concurrently Move DB2 for i Tables and Indexes to SolidState Disks.

DB4 Wiki - Virtual Network Computing (VNC)

The SAP on IBM i team is constantly searching for appropriate channels to share insights. In the past we used to post blogs but we learned that there are more appropriate places for HowTo information. Therefore, we started adding content to the SAP on IBM i part of the Database & OS Platforms Wiki space of SDN.

We point to the old Blog entries but also have new contributions there. In these days we see a page, which describes, how you can run an (free!!!) X-Windows server on IBM i. This can be used, for instance, to run SAPInst GUI or Java administration tools natively.  Here is the link to this page: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/x/7oaHDg

Stay tuned...

As the development team intends to maintain a consistent format, editions of the series will continue to be published on my name. Set feeds accordingly if you are interested in following the series.
