In this update we would like to share with you the new guide titled Database Monitoring Using the DBA Cockpit for IBM DB2 for i.

Some time ago we presented the independent back-end for data collection (SAP Note 1622665) and anticipated that we were about to undergo a redesign process for the platform specific code for transaction DBACOCKPIT. The main goal of this redesign process was the consumption of the performance data directly from the sources provided by the backend as well as the integration of new options to improve the database monitoring experience. As of the second quarter of 2014 the required code changes were made general available to customers through the support packages for the releases of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 with Enhancement Package 2, SAP NetWeaver 7.3, SAP NetWeaver 7.3 with Enhancement Package 1 and SAP NetWeaver 7.4.

If you have recently updated to a latest support package, you have for sure our latest development. But that is not all, you are just a few configuration steps to take full advantage of the enhanced screens of the DBA Cockpit for IBM DB2 for i and enjoy features like graphical explain, jump to ABAP source code of an SQL statement and historical SQL Plan Cache statement analysis.

To get a list of the prerequisites that your system must fulfill to start enjoying these improvements, refer to the SAP Note 2033326.
