"There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened."
-Douglas Adams
So you would like to discover more about the current state of your IDM installation, but don’t want to bring up your SQL client and run through all of your queries. What if you could just run a quick job and get the results in a HTML file? Good, let me tell you about a solution I have come up with.
A couple of years ago, I was working with some of the IDM developers on just such a thing, but then we all got side tracked and the project got put on the shelf. Then there was the thread from fedya.toslev which got me thinking about it again and I brought it off the shelf and cleaned it out a bit. Following what I did in my last configuration contribution, I have posted it on Sourceforge as SAPIDMstat.
There’s a lot of ways that this information could be arranged and presented. Frankly, I think doing it as an HTML report might be the least of them. Certainly, this calls out for being created as a report, or maybe leveraging the extension interface. I think it's fairly easy to understand what we've done and how it can be extended, but leave me a post here (or there) and we can work through it.
Enjoy!
