The selling of music and videos on the Internet isn't new to most of us, but the offering of commoditized, on-demand services over the Web is a vision of the future. To further this innovation, SAP Research recently created the Unified Service Description Language (USDL): a platform-neutral language for describing services that would help make the Internet of Services vision a reality.
USDL was consolidated from SAP Research projects concerning services-related research as an enabler for the wide leverage of services on the Internet. SAP Research believes that with the rise of commoditized, on-demand services, the stage is set for the acceleration of and access to services on an Internet scale.
