‘Velocity’ is an exclusive event jointly organized by SAP, Microsoft and its SAP-Microsoft Unite Connection Program partners. The objective of the event is to offer our most progressive and committed customers a chance to accelerate their Duet Enterprise implementation project and to get hands-on experience of the new release of Duet Enterprise.
There are two event options in September/October 2012.
- The US Velocity Event will be will be held from Mo, Oct 29th to Nov 02nd at the SAP US Headquarters in Newtown Square, US.
- The EMEA Velocity Event took place from Mo, Sep 17th to Fr, Sep 21st at the SAP Headquarters in Walldorf, Germany.
Each Velocity Event is limited to 5 customer project teams and split into two parts:
- Part 1 of Velocity Event (3.5 days): Objective is to accelerate the Duet Enterprise 1.0 FP1 project
- (New!) Part 2 of Velocity Event (1.5 days): Hands-on experience on Duet Enterprise Next Release
If you sign up for the event you are asked to identify a cross disciplinary group consisting of 4 to 6 combined resources skilled in SAP ABAP, SAP NetWeaver (knowledge of SAP’s Gateway product preferred), SharePoint developers and if desired ASP.Net and UI designer/developer as well as IT architectural resources.
Microsoft and SAP will provide leading Duet Enterprise development and technical resources, who are supporting your team during the week.
Of course knowledge of Duet Enterprise is highly advisable, however not required as we are offering online training courses prior to the velocity week.

Part 2 of Velocity Event: Exclusive access and test of Duet Enterprise Next Release
- Get exclusive insights into the Duet Enterprise strategy of Microsoft and SAP
- Get hands-on experience with the next release of Duet Enterprise (guided installation and testing based on a pre-configured MSFT SharePoint Online and your own SAP backend system)
Receive dedicated Support
- Online training sessions with hands-on exercises in the preceding week
- Early access to help train and ramp-up your organization on Duet Enterprise
Participate in Marketing Opportunities with SAP and Microsoft
- Involvement in SAP and Microsoft global marketing activities related to Ramp-Up engagement in support of Duet Enterprise launch activities
The objective of the Velocity event is to help you deploy a productive Duet Enterprise scenario this calendar year. As such, customers that want to join are asked to come prepared with: - A working development environment for Duet Enterprise
- A high-level vision of the ‘to-be’ build solution
- Functional and technical specifications detailing the solution
- A rough project plan inclusive of both the development and deployment plan to go productive
- A project team of 4-6 individuals
Please note that there is no specific format prescribed for the event and we encourage you to leverage your partners or own internal software development methodologies and tools. Participating teams are requested to cover their own expenses.
If you are interested in joining the US event please request application form and detailed Velocity event material via UnitePMO@microsoft.com no later than Oct 10. Space is limited, and seats will be secured based on scenarios received. We will invite all confirmed participants to a webcast after the 10th of August in which we will discuss further details and logistics of the event.
