DSAG Jaheskongress 2014 - Customer First

I am just returning from the German SAP User Group Yearly Convention (the DSAG Jaheskongress 2014 in Leipzig).

The convention started with keynotes from Dr. Marco Lenck, Bernd Leukert and others followed by some very good session by both customers, partners and SAP. For DSAG members you can access the presentations here: http://www.dsag.de/dokumente/tag-1-keynote-bernd-leukert-sap-se-customer-first-software-fuer-den-dig...

On the second day we had similar keynotes, this time from Gerd Oswald, Ingrid-Helen Arnold, Benno Zollner, CIO Fujitsu Technology Solutions und Head of IT Global Shared Services, Fujitsu Ltd and Dr. Jürgen Sturm, CIO / Bereichsleiter Informationstechnologie, BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH

I then participated in several sessions including a great overview of SAP Web IDE by margot.wollny and oliver.graeff , SAP HANA  Cloud Integration by udo.paltzer and Mobile. There are really some very interesting things happening 🙂

On the SAP Mobile Platform topic arno.mielke and gerhard.henig talked about the new features that were just introduced with the service pack of SMP 3.0 and HCPms

SAP Microsoft Interoperability

On the last day I had the pleasure to present together with helmut.stefani the Microsoft & SAP integration topic. As you might have heard we just founded a new working group for this topic and while Helmut was concentrating on the SAP Content Management for SharePoint, I provided an overview of the integration of SAP data and processes in Microsoft Office leveraging SAP Gateway for Microsoft. (see also https://curah.microsoft.com/206830/sap-gateway-for-microsoft for a good overview of links with information)

We talked about the Office 2010 & 2013 integration and also demoed the newly available Office 365 integration.

The interest in the room was so high, that we had people standing in the back. Also after the session we had plenty of follow up discussions around the topic.

If you are a member of DSAG (and interested in this topic) I can only recommend that you take a look at our working group and sign up. We will have plenty of very interesting topics to cover in the future.

I will provide a separate overview in an additional blog later on.

And then of course we have SAP TechEd / DCode in Berlin. This time it will be me again presenting the same sessions as we did in SAP TechEd / DCode Las Vegas.
