As you probably have seen / heard SAP TechEd Las Vegas and SAP TechEd Barcelona are almost here. TechEd Las Vegas will take place from October 19–23, 2015 and Barcelona will be from November 10–12, 2015.

From a Microsoft / SAP Interoperability point of view we have planned quite a few technical sessions this time. First we have some great mobile sessions that will guide you through the process on how to build a mobile Windows 8.1 application using the SAP Mobile Platform SDK.

Make sure to check out the MOB260 session in Las Vegas by my colleague kiran.karunakaran

From an SAP Gateway for Microsoft point of view we will focus on the integration in Office 365. The scenarios that we had shown in recent months (SAP Gateway for Microsoft: Service Pack 03/Office 365 demo - YouTube & SAP and Microsoft Office with Gateway for Microsoft: SAP workflows in Outlook on any device - YouTub...) show in a beautiful way how you can get the best out of your investments in SAP and Microsoft. Now we want to show you how you can do this or even better give you the opportunity to do it yourself.

For this we have two Mini Code Jam sessions planned.

  • MOB600: In the first one we will guide you through the process of integrating SAP Workflows in your Outlook. We will look at an SAP Fiori My Inbox first and see workflows from the SAP system. Then we will connect to the same services that are used by the SAP Fiori My Inbox and integrate the workflows in Outlook. In a way that it does not only run in your rich-client Outlook 2013 on the desktop, but also in your Outlook Online / Office 365 in the browser.
  • MOB604: This Code Jam session will focus on the generic integration of SAP data in Office applications (again not the "old" way via VSTO, but the new way via the "Apps for Office" / Office add-in way). We will take a look at an OData service from the SAP Developer Center and expose the information in Excel.

We also have three Code Review sessions planned, where we will take a closer look at the code behind some applications that integrate SAP data in Microsoft products:

  • MOB706: Getting SAP Workflows in Outlook 2010 and 2013
  • MOB708: Workflows in Outlook Anywhere: Apps for Office and SAP Gateway for Microsoft
  • MOB709:  Working with SAP Data from Excel

Of course we will also be at our booth with Microsoft where we would be happy to meet and talk to you.
