Hi All,

Have you ever confused by the Latest SAP Technology Product Naming convention?

Lately, we can't deny SAP NW technology evolves too rapid, and sometimes, or most of the times, we are confused with the underlying technology platform used, with a lot of question marks in our head to identify what's the Netweaver Plaftform used in SAP Business Suite 7, SAP Business Suite 7 Innovations 2010 and SAP Business Suite 7 Innovations 2011, EHP5, EHP6, BW/EP/PI EHP 7.3,  and etc etc.

SAP Product running on SAP NetWeaver 7 EHP1, 2 and 3 is summarized in below table to provide better understanding and clearer picture:

For your information, EHP3 for SAP Netweaver 7 is running on AS ABAP 7.31.

SAP Netweaver 7.3 and EHP1 for SAP Netweaver 7.3 @ SAP Netweaver 7.31 are excluded from this blog to avoid confusion. As you might already knew, SAP Netweaver 7.3 is mainly focus on hub and standalone deployment such as EP, BW, PI and etc.

Conclusion:

By understanding and able to distinguish underlying platform used between Business Suite 7,BS7i2010, BS7i2011 and SAP NetWeaver EHP* will definitely help sapadmin on their tasks such as installation, upgrade, maintenance, writing proposal and etc.
