What’s new in Support pack 10...!!!

Recently I have attended few demos of SAP in which I came to know that Support Pack 10 is having a lot of new functionalities in ALM area.

From a testing prospective SAP START this will be part of option 1 in test management. Start is an automation test tool which works based on recording.

Record the transaction and play it like any other testing tool.

A template will be released by SAP for each transaction which will be available on SMP and that needs to me maintained in SolMan. Start support more than 600 regularly used transactions.

To start recording for example you can enter an order number which is already created START understands all the input values and brings the same during the recording, parameters can be identified during recording and later we can add few more if required.

This is a very good option for customers who are about to start automation testing.

The good part is it’s bundled as part of the enterprise support.

Areas to improve:

Does not support web applications and custom transactions.

SAP has a wonderful learning management tool called “Workforce Performance Builder” (WPB) the latest version is 9.2.

We just need to record a transaction make adjustments with that we get a video of the transaction, document of steps in word, PPT and PDF. You can use this for simulation for user training.

Now in support pack 10 we can integrate WPB with SolMan.
