In the final installment of this SAP Change Control ROI series, I want to emphasize that increasing numbers of SAP customers are using their change automation and control technology to manage change across non-SAP as well as SAP enterprise software investments. Our customers tell us that Rev-Trac’s open API and growing list of completed integrations ease the burden of managing changes across the whole IT software portfolio, including important non-SAP Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) applications.

We love to hear such reports, of course. The integrations we’ve provided through Rev-Trac web services and outbound interfaces help to future-proof Rev-Trac, and that helps everyone. For the Rev-Trac team at RSC, it means we can concentrate on coding our customers’ requests and implementing new futures instead of scrambling to keep up as the future arrives. For you as a Rev-Trac user, they ensure you can more easily and effectively implement a planned ALM integration and automation strategy, without having to revisit or change past technology decisions.

This is especially important if you’ve invested in non-SAP ALM applications such as a Service Desk, Quality Testing tool set, automated code inspection or impact analysis technology. A good integration means your system will function better without changing well-accepted user procedures or having to modify processes that are working smoothly.

When you integrate testing and quality assurance with Rev-Trac’s highly automated change control processes, you can achieve a single, system-wide approach that automates and enforces testing as well as code and configuration change analysis. It will increase visibility of testing requirements, testing scripts and test outcomes.

As part of its normal change control functionality, Rev-Trac will provide audit-ready documentation of changes to all enforced processes. Audit woes related to mission-critical SAP applications will disappear.

The Rev-Trac Quality Center Synchronizer Adapter (RT-QC Sync Adapter) accommodates HP Quality Center requirements, so discovered defects are automatically synchronized with Rev-Trac requests. This allows both requirements and defects noted by HP QC to be mirrored inside Rev-Trac, and vice-versa. Each corresponding pair is linked, such that updates or modifications performed in one product are automatically reflected in the other.

Our customers report that the goal of such integrations is fewer customization errors, reduced system downtime and safer system change implementations. Results like that make your whole team look good!

Integrating all SAP ALM data into a single, automated and enforced change control process improves your ability to manage crucial IT processes, but more than that, it will save time, money and resources. Integrations help strategically maximize the value of your
