2.5 Things I Learned from TechEd 2016
1. Solution Manager 7.2 (SolMan) was the talk of TechEd 2016. Conversations have changed from “Why Solution Manager?” to “How do we best get there?” This is a major change over previous years where people were struggling to justify implementing the extended SolMan functionality. Now with better front ends (Fiori/UI5) and completely redesigned business process and test management functionality (no need for TAO), SolMan is finally gaining momentum as a business tool.
2. SolMan is ready for DevOps and Agile. Back in 2013, I wrote a blog on the cultural shift required for adopting a DevOps approach to SAP ALM which was being 
driven by Agile and Lean thinking. At that stage, DevOps was three years old and Solution Manager 7.1 just released. In the convening years Agile and DevOps have invaded many IT shops as a result of the cultural shift in IT executive thinking. With the new Process and Test Management functionality integrated with Agile Project Management, SolMan is ready to support your DevOps initiatives.
