Scholar@SAP has been one of the sparkling thoughts initiated by SAP Labs to support early talent acquisition.  It is a great support to students who want to study further by providing scholarship for Master in Science from BITS, Pilani. Also a great opportunity to utilize the knowledge gained through real world solution implementation and helping the world Run Better and Faster by following SAP strategies. I want to share my experience at SAP Labs India being a proud scholar.

Work@SAP

I see that scholars are treated with equal respect and dignity as that of any other SAP employee. We are given equal opportunities to showcase our skills. We get our roots planted deep to the company technologies through the concept of practical phases, where we get a chance to work for three different teams for a span of seven months each. Our technical and functional competencies grow better as we are exposed to different work environment and Line of Business. Scholars are given recognition for their contributions by their work teams and the Vocational Training team. We have events exclusively for scholars such as sudoCODE (Scholars Uniquely DO CODE) similar to d-Code. Scholars are made to handle projects internal to Scholar batch for better enablement of Scholar program which gives them bigger idea about handling projects and leadership skills.

Learn@SAP

After a tiring week we never miss the joy of being a student on Saturdays.  The way we connect to the subjects is unique when we are able to bring the essence of knowledge into our work. There is an amazing bond and interaction with the faculties which leads to an open discussion forums. We receive a lot of support from our managers and colleagues when we need to concentrate on our education. We not only learn from our curriculum but also from experience of our senior batches and their guidance.

Family@SAP

The hospitality that our parents received during events like Parents day and Family Day (Namma Samsaara) is unforgettable. Our workplace is a “Home away from home” and none of our family members deny that. They never feel concerned about us when we are here.

DesignThinking@SAP

The design thinking workshops during induction training opened up a new channel of thinking in young minds which comes out as innovation.  Events like sudoCODE emerged out from design thinking and there is lot more to anticipate from it.  118 registrations forming 25 teams were taken through mentoring sessions, idea presentations, elimination round and finale where 8 teams had qualified. They worked on 4 themes – Simplified with HANA, The Clientele (Consumer Apps on Mobile), Back to the roots (ABAP) and User Intelligence (Rich user experience using UI5)

Diversity@SAP

It was never a difficulty to blend with the diversity of culture, language, background or thoughts at SAP from the Day 1.  SAP always has strived to keep this place Unified regardless of the diversity and yet respect each of it. There is definitely a perfect place for everyone.

Innovation@SAP

Events like d-Code, Code JAM, JumpStart, w-Code and Tech-Ed have always encouraged innovation and gave equal opportunities to us. It is one of the leading mantras for success and motivation for me. Recent events like PlugIn have motivated me to take a step ahead for innovating where potential opportunities for IT sector to jump in with the power of “Internet of Things” was showcased. The newest innovation from SAP with google class to support healthcare and how SAP analytics on HANA supported KKR in winning was very well shared. SAP Blue encourages people of same interest to work together and come out with colors in field of innovation.

Festivals@SAP

Every major festival is celebrated and cherished here. The cultural programs, decoration and food give the perfect festive air.  This is one such example to show how diversity is encouraged.  This place can turn into a temple or a palace or a party hall.

Nature@SAP

The greenery and garden is amazing. Great place to work for nature lovers like me.  The fountains, trees, flowers and fresh breeze rejuvenates me to work. Morning, after lunch or evening walks are the best.

Health@SAP

SAP makes sure the health of its employees is always fit and fine. Regular classes like gym, Aerobics, Kick boxing, Zumba or Yoga is utilized to its best and I personally have improved a lot in my health. Sports like Cricket, Football and Kabbadi has kept the sportsman spirit in us which will definitely influence in our work too. The calorie burnt information put on stairs or walking lanes motivates us to take stairs or go on a walk. I see that there are health weeks, SAP runs and other eventsare organized. I must say according to me SAP is “The best place to work”.

SocialService@SAP

I have seen many scholars being part of social service events including the recent visit to “Parikrama School” as a part of month of service.  Blood donation camps and organ donation sessions stands by my will of giving something back to the society.

Me@SAP

Not to forget to share one of the best moments when few colleagues who were part of a cultural event introduced “Hi, My name is ABC and I am a scholar” and “My name XYZ and I am not a scholar”. Proud to be a part of this organization!! I have met a better me being here.

I am happy to say scholars rocked on the stage during Annual Day.
