We are the 5th largest SAP Lab in a worldwide network of 14 SAP Labs.
Canada’s Labs are in five postal codes (that’s the Canadian version of the British postcode or American ZIP code) with 5 Labs located in Montreal, Waterloo, Vancouver, and two Labs in Ontario.
We are a group of over 2500 Canadians who live to innovate.
We are passionate about hockey and extremely passionate about delivering best-in-class products and solutions to our customers. These solutions serve more than 9000 customers in 25 industries and make up 86% of the global fortune 500.

Here is a brief introduction to each of our labs across Canada.
SAP Labs Vancouver – British Columbia
The SAP Labs Vancouver office is located in the newly renovated warehouse district of Yaletown, in the heart of downtown Vancouver. Established in 1984, SAP Labs Vancouver is the birthplace of Crystal Reports and SAP's robust Business Intelligence Platform. It is one of the largest development centers for SAP Business Objects solutions, including dashboards, visualization, reporting, query, analysis, discovery, search, collaboration and predictive capabilities.
Vancouver also boasts a state-of-the-art Executive Briefing Center (EBC), which is supported by our Customer Ambassador Program (CA). The EBC is dedicated to providing exceptional opportunities for collaboration and innovation for both potential and existing customers to network and share innovative best-practices.
Check back in a few days and you will read a great story about our Customer Ambassador (CA) program that helps to enhance the customer experience and strengthen SAP-Customer relationships. Our CAs are nominated from across SAP Labs various Lines of Business and are skillfully trained in meeting facilitation. SAP Labs Montreal – Quebec
Established in 1998, SAP Labs Montreal is located in the heart of Cité du Multimédia, on the edge of the Old Montreal, and was one of the first Lab locations in Canada. In fact, the launch of our Montreal Lab was on the day of the ice storm of 1998; a storm that made the news in many parts of the world.
Montreal itself is an island, which is home to over 1.7 million people, is the second largest French speaking city in the world, and boasts the second highest number of restaurants per capita in North America. Rated as one of the world’s most livable cities, and named “Canada’s Cultural Capital” by Monocle Magazine and “City of Design” by UNESCO.
SAP Labs Montreal is home to over 600 employees and is a key development and product management location for SAP Retail, as well as SAP solutions for Mobile Business, hybris integration, Marketing Planning and leveraging SAP HANA. It is also home to key customer support centers, through its Business One support team and IMS team, who work to ensure our customers receive the attention they need for their business critical operations, in a time zone that supports all of the Americas.

SAP Labs Waterloo – Ontario
SAP Labs Waterloo is located in the heart of Canada’s technology triangle and as the pioneering tenant in the University of Waterloo Research and Technology Park, is suitably located for maximum hi-tech talent and resources. A Globe & Mail article stated that Waterloo is the “Canadian home to a high-tech hub of companies and think-tanks housing some of the world's brightest minds”. SAP Labs Waterloo is a key research and development center for the SAP HANA Data Platform and SAP mobility products. SAP Labs Waterloo pioneered the category of mobile and embedded databases with its SQL Anywhere technology, which is now a component of the SAP HANA Data Platform. SAP Labs Waterloo partners with a number of Canadian universities for collaborative research and is recognized as a leader in cooperative education.
SAP Labs Waterloo is also home to the Waterloo AppHaus. Inspired by Germany’s Bauhaus movement, the AppHaus is a creative workshop for designers, developers, business experts and customers to come together and work on innovative ideas and projects. It’s an open concept industrial space with movable furniture, white board walls, and an array of new technology to play with. The space echoes the qualities of startup culture – creating a collaborative environment for design thinking projects and co-innovation initiatives with customers.

SAP Labs Toronto has several teams with in-depth product knowledge supporting various mass shipment releases. The portfolio includes ERP, CRM, GRC, Solution Manager, Financial Consolidation, BPC, BW and SAP Retail solutions. SAP Labs Markham is the development center for “SAP Product and Quotation Management for Insurance” and “SAP Circular Authority”. SAP Labs Markham made its mark in the industry by offering customers speed to market, through the innovative design of developing Insurance products with re-usable Quotation and Policy processes. The expertise at this location includes Pre-sales, IBU, R&D, and services, which promotes inter-departmental collaboration to bring tremendous value to our customers. With the recent expansion of our customer base in the Asia-Pac region, we have included development teams from Walldorf, Shanghai, and Nanjing, while driving the core design, innovation, and development from SAP Labs Markham.
