See How SAP Toronto is Mentoring Young Business Minds of the Future!

A group of SAP Toronto volunteers, co-led by Carolyn Coad and Jennifer Cutajar, have
embarked on a journey to mentor 25 high school students in the world of
business. Through the Junior Achievement – Central Ontario (JACO) chapter, we
are running a program where students will design, organize and operate a real
business to experience how small enterprises function. Students will form a
company (including staffing all positions such as Vice-President of IT, HR,
Sales, and Marketing etc.); raise real capital by issuing shares; develop
business plans and budgets; conduct market research; create real
product(s)/service(s) and sell them to try to maximize shareholder investments.
In some cases these companies continue on as operating business ventures after
the completion of the program.

For the next 6 months SAP mentors will meet with students one evening a week to provide
guidance and expertise in the creation and running of their company. Students
will have the opportunity to learn from guest speakers, Junior Achievement
alumni, and some may even attend a gala event where they can network with
business leaders of today. Participating SAP colleagues include:  Carolyn Coad, Jennifer Cutajar, Mentro
Deonarine, Hong Jiao, William Laverde, Daniel Lee, Jeffrey Leith, Marcus
Pridham, Anthony Servito, Muzna Siddiqi, Ron Sookram, Lee Vandenburgh, Adrian
Wagner, David Washburn, Peter Wong, and Kent Yu.

After our first few meetings it is evident that we have a diverse, energetic and
motivated group as they all actively participate in the formation of the
corporate norms, values and even an introduction to design thinking.
