Handling the challenges of the 21st century means taking advantage of the abilities that every talent brings to the table, including those brought by individuals on the autism spectrum. To capture this pool of talent, SAP has partnered with Specialisterne, a Danish company that helps autistic people around the world find technology-oriented jobs. The result of which has led to SAP’s global Autism@Work Pilot initiative.

As with any pilot, finding the correct environment to let it succeed is important. SAP Canada became that environment as it was identified by the Global Diversity and  Inclusion team, as the ideal location to define more roles and career paths for people on the autism spectrum. To kick-off the program, SAP Canada teamed up with the Canadian branch of Specialisterne to launch the Autism@Work Pilot on a local scale in Canada

Since the partnership, SAP Canada has successfully hired and on-boarded ten new colleagues on the autism spectrum, six in Vancouver and three in Montreal.
