SAP SQL Anywhere is SAP’s embedded and mobile data management and synchronization technology that is used by OEMs and enterprises to power server, mobile and remote workgroup solutions. SQL Anywhere is an easy-to-use relational DBMS with many self-management, self-tuning, and self-healing features – ideal for environments with limited DBA and IT resources.

This week at the SAP Waterloo Lab there were over 40 SQL Anywhere users including developers from; Symantec, Intuit, Accenture, Hitachi Consulting, TD Bank, Ticketmaster and Neptune Technologies, who attended technical training on SQL Anywhere including previews of the new features in the next release.  The sessions focused on SQL Anywhere core content, including performance and tuning as well as MobiLink internals, and customer use cases.  It was a great opportunity for our customers to meet SQL Anywhere engineers and members of the product management team, as well as interact with development peers.

Customers were pleased that we hosted this product specific event for them to attend.  SQL Anywhere customers are just starting to look at other SAP technologies and how they can enhance their existing architectures or solutions.  They were excited to hear about the focus on SQL Anywhere within the SAP Data Management portfolio and how the technology is being recognized for other SAP solutions.

The resounding feedback from the attendees was this event is very beneficial to their development efforts and they hope SAP allows this event to continue.

“Great focus on advanced topics”

“….. the
conference was *well worth* the time and effort. I think there are some changes
we’ll be implementing over the next month, and then in early 2015 we will start
looking at upgrading to SAP SQL Anywhere v16”
