SAP Startup Focus is a global program helping promising startups in the big data, predictive and real-time analytics space build applications on the SAP HANA platform and accelerate the go-to-market. Over the last 3+ years, SAP Startup Focus has engaged with more than 2600 innovative startups and brought 200 of their validated solutions to market.
As part of our annual Development kick-off meeting, SAP d-kom Sofia 2016, we had a sub-event focused on SAP Startup Focus Program. The program was presented for the first time in Bulgaria to the startup ecosystem, to accelerators, to investors and others. The event was opened by Radoslav Nikolov, Managing Director of SAP Labs Bulgaria, followed by inspirational talks and presentations from Manju Bansal, SAP Startup Focus Programme Global Lead and Andreas Wesselmann, SVP, HANA Cloud Platform, SAP SE. Stoyan Vellev, Development Manager in SAP Labs Bulgaria, presented SAP HANA Cloud platform and its capabilities and features. The attendees had the opportunity to learn some operational details of running a startup like raising money and hiring teams, as well as to understand how to leverage SAP HANA and the ecosystem of customers for viable commercial opportunities. The Bulgarian startups, who won HCP Startup Challenge for CEE, ScaleFocus and ShopUp, also shared their valuable experience. There were also a lot of networking opportunities to meet SAP professionals, SAP partners and other startups.
Special guest to the SAP Startup Focus Forum in Sofia was Jes-Gram Hansen from SAP Extreme Sailing Team. He gave a different point of view why technology is so important to sport and how team work is very essential not only to every team, but to every start-up.
