SAP is upping it’s game when it comes to showing the power of SAP in the world of sports.  We already know of some recent events that are showing how SAP makes a difference in the world of sports.

SAP helped NFL fantasy football players with a Fantasy Player Comparison tool to crunch the numbers faster than their friends.

SAP is proud to be supporting the Germany national team throughout it’s training prior to their win at the World Cup. The team says that they benefitted from the big data analysis with improvements such as the team’s speed to pass and decreasing ball touches before a goal.

It’s no surprise then that SAP has decided to use it’s technology to support the GENYOUth Foundation, a partnership with the NFL(National Football League) and the NDC (National Dairy Council) to inspire and educate youth to improve nutrition and increase physical activity. And now, SAP is a proud partner.

The 2014 Summit was held in Dallas, TX and I was one of the SAP volunteers to be on site. The SAP flagship program, Adventure Capital, was also featured throughout the week. Starting in 2015, students from around the US can put on their entrepreneurial hat to solve local problems related to health and wellness, if their ideas have a solid business case they will receive a micro-grant from SAP to bring their ideas to life. Over the span of several days top youth from around the country who set the example and show leadership initiative in the area of health and fitness gathered together to answer “What else should we do?!”

SAP volunteers helped with several activities

  • Advised on public speaking tips to help kids pitch their new ideas for healthy snacks
  • Worked with the kids to develop obstacle courses
  • Ran a booth at the celebratory expo to test jumping height and agility (longest line at the event!)

The last day took place at the Cowboys Dallas stadium! We had free reign of the field and it was incredible to see these kids so excited to stand on the same field as their favorite team (okay, only a favorite team to some..=)

I took some photos of the event and exploring the grounds. Take a look!

Hanging out in the locker room and catching a look at the Cowboys' Uniforms up close. Looking good guys!

SAP Agility Wall! One of the most popular activities of the day!

The other most popular activity? The SAP Vertical Jump, of course!

A view inside one of the obstacle courses co-developed with youth leaders and SAP volunteers. Welcome to the Tunnel of Knowledge!

SAP Volunteers from Dallas standing by the obstacle course leader board.

Don't mind me, just getting cozy on the 50 yard line before 1,000 kids showed up to play.

Plus a video summary

You can see more pictures from the event including football player appearances, big check giveaways and more on the SAP Corporate Social Responsibility FB page

Was proud to be represent SAP and see this great partnership begin. It was also fascinating to see different areas of SAP come together to make this happen, SAP Corporate Social Responsibility, SAP Sponsorships and of course all the SAP volunteers from their various roles and responsibilities. Talk about a great internal and external partnership.  Looking forward to participate in more opportunities like this.
