I am pleased to announce that SAP been recognized as another best place to work in the U.S., this time with a list that targets an interesting, though not unique, employee audience. Fatherly has ranked SAP 14th on their 50 Best Places to Work for New Dads list.  The inaugural compilation from this digital lifestyle guide for new fathers highlights leading companies that recognize everyone – including the bottom line – benefits when parents can work and provide for their families.

Essentially, it showcases programs and benefits that “make for a strong and healthy workplace for working dads,” and puts employee work/life integration at the forefront.  For SAP, that means providing benefits such as Paid Family Leave [hyperlink], the Adoption Assistance Plan [hyperlink], and health insurance services such as Phone-a-Physician and flexible work arrangements such as Flex Appeal [hyperlink].

That this list exists is, in and of itself, a reflection of the societal shift that has been underway for some time: Households with parents who work outside the home are a reality.  This has given rise to the need for business to provide the flexibility and support employees need to nurture and manage all aspects of their life including work and family commitments.   An increasingly hyper-connected mobile society also supports placing this all within reach.

Having SAP on this list reflects our continued commitment to help employees better integrate their work and personal life responsibilities.

However, I’d like to take it a step further and say it shows the industry – and our competitors –that we have what it takes to attract and retain the best and brightest talent in the marketplace across multiple demographics.  By fostering a work environment and culture reinforced by policies, practices and benefits and embracing an evolving mindset which makes it more permissible to take advantage of such programs results ultimately in greater employee well- being, increased engagement, productivity, retention and overall success which benefits everyone.
