Hi,

I would like to share my first Sales Overview reports developed using SAP’s new reporting tool  “SAP Visual Intelligence” and its functionality/features.

In order to start developing new reports, go to File menu and select new

Choose source for your report you are going to develop. Using SAP Visual Intelligence you can build reports using data in HANA, CSV , Excel files, SQL e.t.c.  For our demonstration we are using sample excel file “BestRunCorp_Retail.xlsx” provided by SAP in Visual Intelligence trial version.

In the below window, we have options to set first row as column names and to show hidden columns/rows in the source file. Select Acquire button to continue

Initially it displays data view as shown in the below screenshot. You can also merge other data sets from different source by selecting merge button.

You can switch to Split view or Visualize view. Split View gives both data and visualize view. In visualize view you can view your data using different graphs/charts provided by SAP VI.

Select Visualize view for our demonstration. Select required KPI’s for reporting purposes and create measures from context menu. In our example we are using Sales Revenue, Sales Quantity, Discount, Gross Margin and Number for issues reported by customer.

Now drag measures to Y axis and select ‘Rank Values’ to give top 10 sales revenue by manager(x axis).

You can also sort and do calculations based on your requirements

Based on my hands-on, I would strongly recommend this tool to utilize for developing  adhoc reports. Business users can easily understand SAP Visual Intelligence tool and develop reports for their day to day adhoc reporting needs without depending on IT.
