Licensing

NUL means Named user license which means you have rights for Lumira Server

Lumira Server means you need HANA

Concurrent license can also use this with BI4 suite at no additional charge

Full use license with HANA has no restrictions

LREA – Limited runtime means you can use only Lumira Server which is cheaper, but you can’t run BW on it

For the future they are looking at virtualized HANA instance as well

Lumira Server is NOT included in Edge licenses

Supports NULs when deployed standalone

Figure 3 shows the HANA licenses that can run Lumira Server

With LREA as Figure 4 shows there is no smart data access, Data Services for generic ETL

BusinessObjects Explorer – what does that mean?

BusinessObjects Explorer offers “true agile data exploration and mobile capabilities”

SAP sales uses it for 10K users

However it has a Flash limitation

In the past required accelerator appliance for large datasets

Figure 8 shows Lumira, while SAP says it is not meant to replace Explorer but will take some workflows as well
