Hi Everyone

Just wanted to share my amazing experience with SAP Lumira uptil now. It’s been over a year since I have been using SAP Lumira, and the way this tool has matured, I must say, it is one of the best self service tool available in the market.

Apart from amazing out of the box features, it gives us so much flexibility to add our own custom piece like visualisations or data extension. The data blending techniques, infographs and Predictive features have totally changed the perspective of doing analytics. Not only it’s easy to use but it’s quite intuitive too.

For the Data Genius entry, I did analysis on Tennis (Men’s Singles). I chose this topic as I am quite into this sport. So why not create something similar like Tennis SlamTracker.

My main source of data and images have been from http://www.atpworldtour.com/, tennisabstract.com, Wikipedia.

Just a snapshot of my datasets:

-

Below are the story board I have created based on the analysis:-

  1. The all-time record holder of Grand slam titles.  And the second graphs shows how many tournament specific titles players have won in their career.

2.The second page gives us some geographic stats of the no. of players and the total titles per countries. Where we see USA and Australia are having tight competition among them.

3. In this we see the Current Champions of this year Grandslam.

4.This slide basically talks about Player Profiles. You can slide through the different profiles below using the arrow. According to the social media data the most trending player is Rafael Nadal. I guess its because of his current performance in the last Grandslam.

5.This one is my favorite slide where we can see the top 5 performer across different types of court, looks like the Serbian Player has taken the lead.

6.Here you can select the players who you want to compare and the data feed will change automatically. Apart from that we can see the hold rate for different players too.

7.Here I have tried to mimic the player shots trajectory, by setting the speed, angle, gravity we can predict where exactly the ball will drop. You can check out the video to see thewhole action. Feeding the speed, angle, gravity data for different types of courts, one can Predict the ball trajectory, make a game plan for that match.

Apart from that above link, I tried mimicking a mini tennis game using SAP WEB IDE Visual Application using open external js.

I have posted the idea at DATA Genius Idea Place- Tennis Fever : View Idea
