Finally a book around Master Data Governance is available since few weeks. This first edition is in German, an English version is planned.

The book examines the current MDG release and provides a detailed demonstration of the application in complex customer projects. Rather than looking at the technical orientation, the work focuses on general aspects such as the customer’s organization, data governance processes or change management. Implementation examples and use cases from the fields of material, customers, finances and bill of material linking can also be found in this book. The aim of the authors was to present MDG as a central element in a large “tool set” of complementary SAP products (Fiori, Lumira, BPM, …), which can be weighted as appropriate in order to find the right balance.

Oliver Lauffer, Project Manager at SAP Switzerland and Jan Rauscher, consultant in SAP EIM, HANA & Analytics Team Switzerland, have written this oeuvre on the topic of master data management with SAP MDG together with René Zimmermann from Merck. Oliver, Jan and René have, of course, also drawn on their project experiences for the book. It includes numerous references to further SAP Communities sources as well as many practical examples based on actual customer scenarios. The book and its future editions are intended to convince our customers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland of the advantages of SAP MDG in the context of a central master data strategy.

From the book: The release of MDG 8.0 has signaled a consistent further development of master data management by SAP. With greater integration of MDG in ERP and expanded functionalities such as comprehensive data models, optimized search and validation options as well as modern UIs, MDG is increasingly becoming an essential tool for efficient corporate IT. This specialist book introduces users, project managers and decision-makers to the world of MDG and provides them with a multitude of practical examples, thus giving them the ideal preparation for successfully realizing MDG projects.
