Enter for a chance to win an amazing, career-enhancing trip to the SAP Mining and Metals Forum in Darmstadt, Germany, 8-9 October, 2014.

This event will allow two students the unique opportunity to meet with key industry leaders from all over the world, and learn from their first-hand experiences about career opportunities, business challenges, and opportunities in these essential markets that form the beginning of the supply chain for so many other industries, from automobile manufacturing to medicine to energy and high-tech products such as mobile devices.  Each winning student will have their travel expenses paid by SAP. This is in alignment with SAP’s commitment not only to the Mining and Metals industries but also to inspiring students around the world to engage in meaningful careers and research opportunities.
Enter to win by creating a blog on one of these themes:

1. How will your studies help you to enable safe and profitable mineral production and/or differentiate in commodity markets once you enter the working world?

 

or

2. How can digitalization and the Internet of Things change the working environment and efficiency in the metals and mining industry?

There are opportunities in areas you may never even have considered as being essential to mining – software engineering, database management, accounting and finance, logistics, human resources, business management, operational risk management, equipment management and maintenance, procurement and more.

The 10 best blogs of the first online showdown will be determined by an online community via SAP Community Network (SCN) for Mill Products and Mining . The 10 blogs that accumulate the most “SCN likes” by 25 July 10 am Middle European Time(“MET”) will make it to the next round.
In a second showdown an SAP Industry expert jury will choose the two winner blogs out of the ten winners of the first showdown by 15 August 10 am (MET).
The blogs will be promoted by the SAP Mill Products and Mining community, thus increasing your visibility to prospective employers. 
These two winners of the competition will be invited to travel to and blog about the SAP Mill Products and Mining Forum in Darmstadt Germany. Don’t miss the opportunity to travel to Darmstadt and enter the competition today!

What’s included? Flights and daily allowance for accommodation, food and travel within the host country will be covered.

Timing? SAP Mining and Metals Forum is on October 8-9, 2014. The contest winner will be flown to the host country for about three days, beginning October 7th and ending October 9th 2014.

 

How to Enter
1. Inform and Inspire. Write a compelling blog post describing how your studies will help you to enable safe and profitable mineral production and/or differentiate in commodity markets once you enter the working world or how digitalization and the Internet of Things can change the working environment and efficiency in the metals and mining industry?

 

2. Post your Blog

- Post your blog on SAP Community Network (SCN)  for Mill Products and Mining.
- Add “MMForum:” to the title of your blog.
- Tag your blog with: “ua_blogs, “ua_news”, “Mining_and_Metals_Forum”, “Blog_competition”, “Mining”, “Metals”…you are free to add more tags.

Your piece must not have been published before, and should be written specifically for this competition by yourself.
Can the deadline be extended?
No.

 

What if I am selected but unable to go to the host country?
By entering the competition you confirm that you will be available to travel for SAP Metals and Mining Forum from October 7th until October 9th. There will be no alternative price, event or payout if you are unable to go.

 

My article is over the word limit - will I be disqualified?
All entries that are more than 10% over the maximum word count of 600 words will be disqualified.

 

Will I lose any rights to my work by entering the competition?
Once an entry is submitted to the competition, SAP will have the right to use your entry in connection with the competition, including the right to copy, edit, display, publish and make available your entry in any format.
