I actually started writing this blog on my iPhone because, well, I'm a little obsessed with it. The obsession isn't just about getting to the next level of Doodle Jump, nor is it about the contstant positive feedback loop I'm in when texting and tweeting. My sincere feelings about my device truly have to do with the fact that my life has gotten easier and more effective as a result of having it basically grafted to my hand. You probably all know the drill: New, fun apps! Incredible graphics! Efficiency! Friends like me more, I've lost weight and I'm more beautiful!...ok, still waiting for the last few items to happen, but in essence, my iPhone has delivered on the hype it first rolled off the production lines with years ago. And it's moved beyond just personal use - I'd be lost both personally and professionally if I didn't have it available and accessible regularly.
But for developers and enterprise architects, it's not just about cool apps and viral adoption. For those who are putting together a true enterprise mobile strategy, there's a need to use the iPhone and the iOS platform to tie together iPhones and iPads with existing business applications, and to keep pace with the adoption of iOS as it competes for attention with all the other issues in the IT department.
