For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Syclo, enterprise mobile software firm, SAP acquired Syclo in June of 2012 to further broaden SAP’s portfolio for enterprise-class apps. Syclo was known for its flexible mobile platform, and asset maintenance and inventory management mobile applications. Now, you’re likely wondering how Maximo fits into the picture. Initially, Syclo’s business was based on work order and inventory management apps for Maximo. The mobile apps for SAP systems came later in Syclo’s 17 year history.

Since the acquisition, the product names for Maximo apps have slightly changed to meet SAP product naming standards. What has stayed the same is the suite of mobile applications for Maximo, which is a family of prebuilt, pre-integrated apps that combine mobile experience and expertise with Maximo asset and service management systems. The apps extend Maximo system data to plant and field workers for better work order management, accurate cycle counts and rounds, complete asset auditing, work assignment scheduling, and parts usage tracking.

Want to learn more or see the apps in action? Attend the upcoming Mountain West Maximo User Group (MWMUG) Summer 2013 Meeting August 4-6 in Park City, Utah. The MWMUG annually hosts a Summer meeting and a Winter meeting. Each meeting consists of user presentations, an open forum/roundtable, a networking session and an optional training workshop. Plus, SAP will be on hand through the event to share insights on the benefits of mobilizing Maximo, answer questions on the latest Maximo customer product roadmap, and demonstrate the suite of SAP mobile apps for Maximo.
