The summer is quickly coming to an end. There are back to school signs every where, the weather is starting to cool down (in Toronto at least), and Labour Day weekend is around the corner. While many of us sad to see the summer slip away, there is something to look forward to this September.

openSAP’s next course starts on September 9 where you can learn how SAP allows enterprises to support its employee-owned mobile devices and maintain control over the cost and complexity of development.

This course will show how enterprises can use the SAP Mobile Platform to integrate many disparate backend systems containing data cost-effectively and securely, and you will learn about the tools SAP offers to deal with mobile data security concerns.

openSAP adopts the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) format to deliver learning content over a six week duration. Learners can access the material through video lectures, handouts, discussion forums and system demos at their own convenience. Each week’s material will be released on Monday and will be available for seven days, with an assignment due for submission on a weekly basis and a final exam upon course completion.

Participants should expect to spend four to six hours per week to complete the module and assignment.

In this course, we’ll learn what it takes to make an enterprise-ready app with SAP Mobile solutions.

  • Week 1: Introduction to Mobile Development
  • Week 2: Enterprise Mobility
  • Week 3: Creating an Enterprise-ready Application
  • Week 4: OData
  • Week 5: Client Design and Implementation Choices
  • Week 6: Enterprise Security Concept & Outlook

The first openSAP course, SAP HANA, was completed in July with over 10k students sitting the final exam, 80% external SAP. The participants really enjoyed the course style and are looking forward to the next course already:

“I liked everything about this course: the fantastic course preparation, the structure of the lessons, the content of the examples, the always clear explanations from Thomas.”

“A standing ovation to the entire team and the person who came up with this idea.“ „Bravo sir! SAP HANA MOOC on openSAP is a triumph. 20 minutes in & I’ve learned more than in last 20 months“ „Impressed that openSAP works on all devices. I’m in a bus on my iPad and it works great. „Only real complaint for openSAP is the high number on that timer to the next course! Well done guys – great online content“
