The foundations of the mobile world are shaking, according to the economic survey results published by IDC. According to the 2013 Q3 analysis, Android and Windows are taking more and more market and Apple is falling behind, despite the new iPhone release.

This is excellent news for Android. Android’s market share is now 80% of the global market, with 211.6 million devices using the OS. Apple may have shipped an impressive amount of units over the quarter, but their market share has dropped about two percent.

Also of note is that the BlackBerry is all but dead. These results secure Windows Phone as the solid #3 provider: nothing BlackBerry has done in the recent months has stalled Windows climb. This means the end of an era, as just ten years ago BB was the king of the mobile kingdom, particularly with business.
