The SAP Mobile Secure team is pleased to share our mobile security strategy including our vision and - just announced today - the global availability of the next release of SAP Mobile Secure.
We started down the path of reinventing our mobile security strategy in part thanks to the valuable insight gained from our customers. One customer in particular, Maria Yauger from Phillips 66, put it best; “Mobile for the enterprise has to be both intuitive and secure. Managing your environment so that these two important facets of mobile come together is critical for the success of your enterprise mobility strategy.” Our strategy now takes these two aspects – security and user experience – into top consideration with this new release.
SAP Mobile Secure is broadening beyond managing mobile devices, apps and content to address the many facets of a robust mobile deployment. As part of Mobile Secure, we’re proud to introduce Mobile Place - a single solution to manage, secure and publish mobile applications to employees, business partners and consumers. It provides an enhanced user experience and makes it easy to enroll and consume mobile apps easily. The great part is that it supports both managed and unmanaged users securely.
This solution, which will be available in the SAP HANA cloud, brings together our vision for strong security with a focus on simplicity in the cloud. One of our major global Pharmaceutical customers described the required mindset change of mobile and cloud perfectly; “The realization of both a Cloud First and Mobile First IT strategy is manifested in switching collective mindsets to establish a fundamental change to how applications are deployed and consumed. Equally important is how information is managed on and transferred between mobile devices and the services that they access”. With SAP Mobile Secure and the new Mobile Place functionality, our priority is to ensure end users can access the services they need in an easy and intuitive way. He went on to state that “Preserving the best user experience possible while ensuring adequate security protection and compliance is key to providing the gains in productivity.”
In addition to new mobile application management capabilities of Mobile Place, we’re also integrating with SAP HANA and SAP Lumira for device and app usage analytics.
