With the rapid advancement of security technologies over the past two years, I’ve been thinking a lot about how often companies should reevaluate their past decisions on how to manage their mobile deployments. Without the proper security measures in place to lock down your corporate data, companies risk data leakage, malware infections, and data loss. Successful mobility deployments require a firm – and ongoing – understanding of the security risks they are facing and the solutions that are available to combat them.

Historically, mobile device management (MDM) has offered the best solution. It’s still a great solution for many use cases, but in this fast changing mobile world with broad mobile adoption and new ownership models, new technologies are emerging and MDM may not always be enough. Leading IT departments are now armed with valuable tools to apply more granular policies that secure apps and the content residing on managed and unmanaged mobile devices. This ultimately enables organizations to provide superior – and secure – mobile experiences to employees, business partners, and customers.

I’m excited to be moderating a webinar on exactly this topic and I'm planning on this being a lively discussion with Forrester’s senior mobile security analyst Tyler Shields, SAP’s head of mobile security Senthil Krishnapillai and our customer Sun Products’ IT operations manager John Major.

I’ve worked closely with these experts to tackle a few very important topics. We’ll look specifically at what has changed in the past two years and why now is the time to reconsider your current strategy. We’ll discuss some of the emerging technologies and discuss how to make the best decision for a secure future.
