The SAP Web IDE Team just released an update to the SAP Web IDE Hybrid App Toolkit (HAT) Add-on. Wow, this cloud stuff moves pretty quickly. Just last week I announced that we released HAT and now there’s already an update.

In the initial release, HAT was only available in the Web IDE Trial environment. With this release, the HAT capabilities are now available in the production Web IDE environment and therefore available for productive use.

For the initial release, the hybrid capabilities in a project were disabled by default; you had to make a manual change to the project settings to enable the capabilities. With this release, that configuration step has been removed, simply create a project using one of the hybrid templates available to you in Web IDE and the mobile properties will be there for you to use.

We also made a lot of changes to the documentation, providing more detailed information and clearing up some topics.

We have a lot more planned for this toolkit, and I’ll write more about what’s coming closer to release. In the meantime, what I need from you is feedback. What do you think about what we’ve created? What functionality would you like us to add to the toolkit? What parts of the toolkit need streamlined? I’m interested in all feedback and we can only make this product better with your help.
