SAP provided an ASUG webcast on what is new for BusinessObjects Mobile 4.2 for Android. Of course since this has not been released yet the usual disclaimer applies that things are subject to change.
Karsten Ruf, SAP, explained that Mobile BI is often shortened as MobI. The purpose of MobI is to mobilize existing content from your BI platform, via iOS and Android devices.

Figure 2 shows the architecture. On the left is the BI Server. On the right is mobile client. You can connect on BOE server via MobI web server on the application server on tomcat or WebSphere and have different options to connect the device. The direct connection is in the middle.
You can use reverse proxy
Third option is via SUP and you can develop your own applications

Figure 3 shows Geo Analysis support in MobI androids 4.2. According to SAP, you can take advantage of Web Intelligence such as latitude and longitude for geo augmented data.

It also supports conditional formatting on bubbles.

You can replace the bubbles with custom images as shown in Figure 4.
It also offers support for multiple measures and filtering.
Filtering can be offline but Internet but it requires the Internet capability to navigate the map
Geo Analysis also supports input controls, sections, and tapping on a value to see associated reports.

Q: On the map can we have integrated charts like a pie charts instead of the bubbles to show multiple measures
A: Good question! With charting, we leverage the functionality provided by the underlying Web Intelligence document. When WebI introduces a feature like that, we will consider it for Mobi.
________________________________________________________________
Q: Platform question: What are added benefits of using SUP instead of direct Mobi server
A: SUP would allow you to develop your own MobI apps
A: Yes, exactly - SUP provides a development environment that allows you to develop your own app, and it provides an application management environment. The Mobi app supports SUP and so you can connect all your apps through one connection channel.
