Hello Everyone,

Monitoring a standalone DB server using CCMS agents is a very common activity and there are some points that we should pay attention to in order to have data available exactly where we want it.

In most of the cases the idea is to have the OS monitoring information available in transactions like ST06 and OS07, therefore instead of using RZ21 to create a new remote monitoring entry and point to this host you should use a standalone CCMS agent which can be downloaded from the SAP Marketplace.

In case the registration of this host is made using RZ21, the OS monitoring data for this host system will only be available in transaction RZ20.

More details about the registration using RZ21 please check the below link.

Since there is no ABAP instance running on the standalone DB server, the SAPCCMSR agent should be used in the registration.

If the information is required in the old ST06 transaction and the database is installed in a different host, than the SAPLOCALHOST parameter should be maintained correctly in the agent profile, the value for this parameter should be exactly the same as the SAPDBHOST parameter value in the instance profile. If it is done correctly the saposcol destination of the database host will automatically flagged as DB Server in the transaction AL15 and the data will be visible in the ST06 transaction.

For more details about using the standalone CCMS agents, installing, registering and setting up the SAPLOCALHOST parameter please check the below links.
