openSAP has won many friends around the world. Just last week, we reached 200,000 enrollments since May 2013 and the number is still growing! We will continue to bring you the latest knowledge on SAP’s technology innovations via openSAP. However with the latest openSAP course, we are entering new territories in several ways.

Firstly, the new course is the first class about the value of SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA. Through SAP HANA, the new Suite not only brings together transactions and analytics on a single in-memory platform, but it completely redefines the concept of real time (which the ‘R’ in R/1, R/2 and R/3 has always stood for). It enables business processes to be re-thought, drives real-time business transformation, and generates customer value both for business and IT. In this course, you will learn about the value of SAP Business Suite powered by SAP HANA for lines of business and industries, and how to best exploit this value.

Secondly, we are opening up to new target audiences. With the initial focus on technology innovations, openSAP has been most appealing to developers and IT professionals close to technology. The MOOC format obviously fits well to the learning habits of this group. The new course is aimed at business consultants and key users within the business. We are interested to see if this target group will be equally excited about the new learning experience openSAP provides.

Thirdly, this is the first course with 20 (yes, twenty!) instructors. Why did we do choose to have so many instructors? Well, the course gives an overview on the additional value SAP HANA brings to the Suite for all functional lines of business and industries. We wanted you to hear it from the experts and not the generalists so every part of the class is taught by the responsible expert. You don’t need to complete each module; in week two and three, you can choose the LoB’s and Industries you are interested in and complete only those modules. While it will be certainly a challenge to adjust to the presentation style of so many instructors, we hope this will provide the most authentic experience for the learners.

I hope that you enjoy the new course as much as previous courses. For us, it will be an interesting learning experience to see how it will be received!
