Another new topic joins openSAP this semester with a new course, SAP Netweaver Upgrades in a Nutshell starting this November along with an updated version of Extending SAP Products with SAP HANA Cloud Platform (Update Q4/2015) with a new module focusing on SAP Cloud for Customer.

SAP Netweaver Upgrades in a Nutshell is designed to help you understand the technical background of SAP Netweaver upgrades as well as the tools and general steps needed to perform an upgrade end to end. SAP Netweaver Upgrades in a Nutshell will explain the purpose of upgrades, how to check for supported platforms, and how to locate guides in SAP Service Marketplace. You will also learn how to use the Maintenance Planner, Maintenance Optimizer and Software Update Manager (SUM). After the course has completed you will understand the entire end to end process for SAP Netweaver upgrades, making the process simpler for you and your colleagues. SAP Netweaver Upgrades in a Nutshell starts November 2 and contains 3-4 hours of content in total. You will have the opportunity to earn a Record of Achievement upon successful completion of the course assignment until December 1.

Extending SAP Products with SAP HANA Cloud Platform (Update Q4/2015) begins November 3 and will run for five weeks, including an additional module on SAP Cloud for Customer. SAP now offers the SAP Cloud for Customer solution bundled with SAP HANA Cloud Platform to enable companies to rapidly implement projects for fast ROI to support the growing demand for innovative business process differentiators beyond CRM.

A previous version of this course was delivered on openSAP in December 2014 and includes updates to existing modules. With this course, you'll learn about most of the extension options that SAP products support, and explore the required technologies and tools that will help you to gain traction in that space. As part of the course, you’ll create your first extensions for SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite and SAP Cloud for Customer, as well as experiment with different collaboration options in SAP Jam. You’ll get free access to the corresponding system APIs, which you can use after the course as well for follow-up prototyping and experiments.

To follow all the units effectively, you should have completed the openSAP courses Introduction to SAP HANA Cloud Platform and Next Steps in SAP HANA Cloud Platform. The course content assumes that you’re already familiar with the concepts and technologies introduced there, and that you have practical experience developing and deploying Java and HTML5 applications on SAP HANA Cloud Platform. If you missed out on these courses previously, they remain available on openSAP in self-paced mode*.

Extending SAP Products with SAP HANA Cloud Platform (Update Q4/2015) begins November 3, 2015 and enrollment is now open.
