As Q1 comes to a close, it’s time to start planning your learning for Q2 and openSAP is ready to get you started with new courses on SAP HANA and SAP HANA Cloud Platform, along with Sustainability Through Digital Transformation. There are courses currently running and it’s not too late to join with topics such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP Fiori, Extended Supply Chain, and SAP SuccessFactors.

SAP HANA Core Knowledge Series

Continuing our SAP HANA Core Knowledge Series, the next course is High Availability and Disaster Recovery with the SAP HANA Platform, starting May 4. Companies have become more dependent upon their IT infrastructure and systems to perform important business tasks throughout their business days as well as outside business hours. It is critical that their IT systems do not fail and are available 24/7 to all end users. High availability (HA) measures the system’s ability to remain accessible in the event of a system component failure and avoid system down times, ensuring the system is always available. Disaster Recovery ensures that, in the unlikely event of a system failure, the system will not lose any data and will be restored fully to its original state. Both of these capabilities are included in SAP HANA Platform with multiple options to select from a recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO) perspective.

The course, High Availability and Disaster Recovery with the SAP HANA Platform, will provide a general overview of SAP HANA platform high availability and disaster recovery features. The course will also expand on the capabilities and demo videos will be provided to showcase the configurations and setup required for operations in a data center environment. The course will run over a three week period and is aimed at enterprise architects, system administrators, and database administrators. Learners taking part in this course should have a basic knowledge of database and software/hardware systems.

SAP HANA Cloud Platform

Our new SAP HANA Cloud Platform series begins with SAP HANA Cloud Platform Essentials, starting May 10 and running over six weeks. There’s good news for developers in Japan who would like to learn to develop with SAP HANA Cloud Platform as the course will also be provided in Japanese with the platform translated in Japanese as well.

SAP HANA Cloud Platform allows you to focus on developing your software and use an enterprise-ready, preinstalled environment in the SAP Cloud to deploy and run your applications in a secure and reliable way. openSAP learners have enjoyed learning how to develop on SAP HANA Cloud Platform, from an introduction through to extending SAP products to SAP HANA Cloud Platform. In addition to openSAP courses, learners have also enjoyed updates via the SAP HANA Cloud Platform podcast series.

As a developer, you will learn about the essential elements of SAP HANA Cloud Platform and how you can make the most of the variety of services it provides. This course is for both new and experienced learners as even if you’ve joined the previous SAP HANA Cloud Platform courses on openSAP, you will learn about the newly introduced services such as Internet of Things (IoT), gamification, mobile documents, and much more. Rui Nogueira and his team are ready to take you through SAP HANA Cloud Platform. To take part, you should have basic Java programming skills as well as a basic knowledge of how to use the Eclipse development environment.  You will have access to a trial SAP HANA Cloud Platform account to perform hands-on exercises.

Sustainability Through Digital Transformation

Our Sustainability Snippets podcast has come to a close but the episodes remain available on openSAP. The new course Sustainability Through Digital Transformation begins April 13 and will help you understand why sustainability is good for business, and business is good for sustainability! The course will focus on seven of the UN Global Development Goals and explain how digitization is a key enabler to achieve these goals by 2030. Some of the goals featured include health and wellbeing, gender equality, and climate action. The course will include tangible examples linking technology trends, such as Internet of Things and Big Data, to solving these problems.
