New courses at openSAP: iOS, SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA & starting a business!

It's time to open some new openSAP courses for enrollment and share some future plans with you!

We’ve got new courses on the SAP and Apple partnership, SAP NetWeaver, SAP HANA, and a new openSAP Thought Leaders course with Susan Solovic, THE Small Business Expert. And for those of you interested in earning a Record of Achievement in self-paced courses, it’s now possible! Read more below. We’ve also launched our first course in Bulgarian to further support EU Code Week, Роботика с LEGO Mindstorms.

SAP Fiori for iOS – An Introduction
By now, you’ve probably heard about the new SAP and Apple partnership – But how will this be put into action? This new openSAP course, SAP Fiori for iOS – An Introduction starts out with an overview of the SAP and Apple partnership and present some showcases. You’ll learn about the benefits and characteristics of native iOS development and become familiar with the design language used within SAP Fiori for iOS design which extends the SAP Fiori design foundation for a native iOS experience. Upgrade of Systems Based on SAP NetWeaver – Advanced Topics
This course will focus on the latest tools and features that are essential for SAP system upgrades. The course will start with SAP Solution Manager’s cloud-based Maintenance Planner, which enables easy and efficient planning of all changes in your SAP system landscape. You’ll also learn about near-Zero Downtime Maintenance (nZDM) for SAP NetWeaver Java systems, enabling you to perform various maintenance activities to your entire stack (hardware, OS DB, AS Java) for SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Process Orchestration and SAP Business Process management. Software Development on SAP HANA (Update Q4/2016)
This course will discuss the architectural foundation that allows the option with this to choose between cloud and on-premise deployment. openSAP delivers Enterprise MOOCs with a definitive start and end date. The purpose behind these dates is to encourage learners to stay on track, collaborate in the discussion forums, and complete the learning content without getting distracted, resulting in learners never completing the course. In the near future, you will have the option to earn a Record of Achievement in self-paced mode, however there will be a fee attached to this option (~€39).

Why are we charging? To encourage learners to continue joining the scheduled courses for free. If learners can earn a Record of Achievement for free at any time, our MOOCs would become like any other e-learning and it would rarely be completed. openSAP as it is today will remain free of charge, including accessing in learning content in self-paced mode. The fee is only applied if you want to earn a Record of Achievement in self-paced mode. You can find more information in our openSAP, course reactivation FAQs.

openSAP’s business is to share free knowledge about SAP’s innovations in MOOC format and we plan to continue free delivery into the future.
