Stephane Mermet, Vice President of Ecosystem & Channel Solutions, SAP EMEA, says that the SAP Database & Technology Partner Summit, October 29-30 in Barcelona should be on every SAP partner’s calendar. An agenda built around the opportunities partners face with SAP innovations in the Cloud, Mobile and big data will enrich customer discussions for the nearly 1,000 partner attendees are expected to attend the largest SAP partner event in EMEA  this year.

The world is changing – dramatically,” says Mermet. “The change we're seeing is centered around the big data game.    We have a huge capacity to collect and process data. The amount of data is doubling every 18 months.”

The summit will enable e partners to address their customers’ business demands, meanwhile exposing them to ways they can grow their businesses.

“Partners need to gain the knowledge about what is happening that will affect their businesses. They have a choice to wait and learn later, or be in a leading position now. This event is designed to support those wanting a leading position,” Mermet says.

Designed to solve modern business challenges involving big data, speed and flexibility, the SAP Real-Time Data Platform (RTDP) includes a portfolio of products optimized to work together. It addresses a myriad of challenges, providing the ability to handle master data, information governance, and information modeling, whether structured or semi-structured. Partners attending the Barcelona summit  will learn how to dramatically simplify their customers’ data management landscapes, reducing the time, effort, and cost to integrate and share data while accelerating data intensive business processes.

Mermet explains that the SAP RTDP will improve the performance of an existing solution, providing partners with a strong way to challenge their customers to build greater advantages. A database can be positioned under every business opportunity to offer customers a turbo-charged environment.

The summit is a training event, says Mermet. Attendees can learn about the market opportunity – and not just from SAP's perspective. Speakers leading sessions include industry analysts and other experts. Training sessions will address topics tailored to be useful to different roles people play within their organizations. For instance, some are designed for engineers, and others focused on how developers can build their intellectual property on top of SAP’s. Other sessions explore how to represent the offerings to customers. All partner types stand to benefit from the sessions, learning what their customers stand to benefit.

The event is designed so that partners have plenty of chances to interact with SAP executives, with each other, as well as network with SAP experts to build demand generation and relationships. If they convert the event into action, partners can already begin building opportunities that can close by year's end. Longer term demand can also be built up, with new professional services added to their portfolios.

Knowledge isn’t the only thing attendees will gain in Barcelona. Partners gain 20 SAP PartnerEdge value points which can have a profound impact on the partners’ SAP PartnerEdge level. There are benefits in each level – gold, silver or bronze – and partners can capture up to 100 points for gaining new certification.

“If you don’t attend, you’ll miss some great opportunities that come with meeting directly with your account manager,” says Mermet. “We also have senior executives attending who are making time to speak with partners. It's a massive two-day program.”
