SAP TechEd held in Las Vegas is approaching, and the other venues, Amsterdam and Bangalore, following soon. If you haven’t made up your mind yet whether you should attend, this blog will hopefully convince you that it is worthwhile to go. Check out the session catalog at the respective venue that is close to you (or maybe you are a gambler, and so it’s Vegas anyway). I am pretty sure that there is plenty of interesting and valuable stuff for you:

If you are particularly interested in the Process Orchestration topic, I would like to help you planning your agenda by pointing to the following sessions. You will find them in the Process Orchestration, Integration, and Portal (POP) track, sub tracks Process Orchestration and Integration and Intelligent Processes and Rules:

Session Overview

POP100: Integration and Orchestration – Overview and Outlook

Abstract:

In this session, we will provide an overview and road map for SAP’s integration and orchestration solution portfolio. Our portfolio combines our proven expertise in on-premise process orchestration with new and native solutions to cover cloud-based and mobile scenarios. This session will focus on SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, SAP NetWeaver Gateway, SAP HANA Cloud Integration, and SAP Operational Process Intelligence powered by SAP HANA and will discuss how these products come together to provide a holistic solution to address your integration and orchestration needs.

Schedules:

POP103: Business Rules and Decision Service Management with SAP Software

Abstract:

SAP has two product offerings, namely SAP NetWeaver Business Rules Management (SAP NetWeaver BRM) for the Java stack, SAP NetWeaver Decision Service Management, based on business rules framework plus (BRFplus), for the ABAP stack, as well as rules on SAP HANA as a platform capability. This session will explain how business rules are used for automation of operational decisions. Components and features of SAP products will be shown and recommendations for use will be discussed. The session will end with a look at features to come.

Schedules:

POP160: SAP NetWeaver BPM – Build and Run a Simple Business Process End-to-End

Abstract:

In this hands-on session, you will get to know SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (SAP NetWeaver BPM) by modeling and running a simple business process end-to-end. In doing so, you will touch all major components of SAP NetWeaver BPM such as Process Composer (design time for process development) and the end-user environment. This session will demonstrate how easy it is to model a business process and how quick you can bring it to execution. Moreover, this session will use the latest user interfaces implemented with SAPUI5 creating an unparalleled user experience.

Schedules:

POP200: Solution Architectures for Process-, Data- and User-Centric Integration

Abstract:

Application integration covers a broad spectrum of integration styles that ranges from process-centric- over data-centric- to user-centric integration scenarios. With hybrid cloud and mobile added to customer landscapes, the number and complexity of scenarios which need integration is even increasing. This session will provide guidance to integration architects and enterprise architects defining their integration strategy. In particular, process-centric-, data-centric- and user-centric integration styles are compared to derive integration policies and solution architectures starting from business requirements and integration scenarios.

Schedules:

POP201: What’s New in SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration

Abstract:

SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration is the integrated platform offering which enables you to design, model, implement, execute, and monitor business processes and securely exchange information across distributed applications for both customers and partners. This session will provide an overview of new features and enhancements that have recently shipped in the area of business process management, process integration, and orchestration. You will also see how the integration between SAP NetWeaver Process Integration and SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management has been tightened.

Schedules:

POP202: B2B Integration with SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration and SAP HANA Cloud Integration

Abstract:

SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, business-to-business add-on, goes into the next round. Last year's released B2B add-on for supporting B2B/EDI-based integration scenarios with SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (SAP NetWeaver PI), got new enhancements and capabilities (for example, Trading Partner Management, EANCOM standard support, message comparison, etc.) covering the scope of business-to-business (B2B) gateway solutions. Furthermore, we will deliver a revolutionized and intelligent service for designing B2B messaging and mapping guidelines covering your business needs, which is a part of the SAP HANA Cloud Integration service. These can be directly deployed on SAP NetWeaver PI or SAP HANA Cloud Integration. Let us surprise you with how quickly and easily you can do B2B with the new SAP tools and services.

Schedules:

POP261: SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration – Build a Complete Integration Scenario

Abstract:

SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration (the combination of the Java-only deployment option of SAP NetWeaver Process Integration and SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management) allows you to model and run powerful integration-centric processes. This session will teach you from scratch all the details you need to know to bring your first stateful integration process to life. This will include: designing interfaces in the enterprise services browser, modeling a BPMN-based integration process using Process Composer, configuring the message transfer using the Integration Flow Designer, maintaining connection settings for a reliable message transfer, and running and monitoring your final solution.

Schedules:

POP262: Migration Tool from Double Stack to Single Stack Integration Scenarios

Abstract:

This hands-on session will cover the Directory Content Migration Cockpit which is an automated tool that provides migration and mass change functionality for process integration scenarios and channels.

Schedules:

POP266: Operating SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration in a Productive Environment

Abstract:

In this session, we will discuss how to operate an SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration landscape by different personas in an organization. The best practices to successfuly monitor business processes and tasks by business users, business administrators, and technical administrators. What are all the challenges these users face in their day to day activities?

Schedules:

POP300: How to Redesign ccBPM Processes Using SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration

Abstract:

With SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration, a pure Java integration platform which is capable of handling both stateful as well as stateless integration processes, is finally available. However, existing customers of SAP NetWeaver Process Integration certainly want to know how they can migrate their existing cross component business process management (ccBPM) processes to the new platform. In this session, you will understand why an automated migration will not work. Instead, you will learn how to benefit from business process model and notation (BPMN), the powerful graphical notation which is used within SAP NetWeaver Process Orchestration to model stateful integration processes, and how to use it to model typical integration scenarios.

Schedules:

POP360: Advanced SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management Development

Abstract:

The latest support packages for SAP NetWeaver 7.3 EhP1 deliver many new features and capabilities for SAP NetWeaver Business Process Management (SAP NetWeaver BPM). In this hands-on session, we will build an SAPUI5 task UI which will replace the default Web Dynpro task UI of the process. During the process, we will explore new features like custom task attributes and actions while using the new SAP NetWeaver BPM inbox based on SAPUI5. We will also explore the new SAP NetWeaver BPM analytics dashboard and as you execute your process, you will encounter other recent enhancements to SAP NetWeaver BPM.

Schedules:

POP361: Process Orchestration – A Round-Trip for B2B Integration Scenarios

Abstract:

SAP B2B add-on was released last year delivering technical adapters and electronic data interchange (EDI) translators for implementing B2B integration scenarios with SAP NetWeaver Process Integration. Many enhancements and new capabilities are delivered covering the scope of classical B2B gateway solutions. Join this session to learn how to implement EDI-based integration scenarios with SAP B2B add-on and to gather experience with recent and planned innovations.

Schedules:

In addition to the mentioned lecture and hands-on sessions, there are also other ways to get in contact with the experts such as roadmap pods, Q&A pods, expert and speaker networking sessions, etc. Here are just some of them that you should not miss:
