SAP Social Services Management for Public Sector is available now with new enhancements which further simplify the implementation of social benefit programs:

  • Handling of sanctions and other types of reductions to social-benefit payments
  • Explicit visibility of sanctions or other reductions to the entitled benefit amount
  • Option to define/withdraw benefit reductions as part of a normal benefit decision, as well as in a separate reduction decision

As an example, benefit reductions are required in the area of unemployment benefits, when a beneficiary did not fulfill his/her obligations, e.g. he/she did not complete an agreed job training.

The solution for Social Services and Social Security focuses on monetary social benefits as defined by social programs like Pensions, Maternity Leave, Illness Benefits, Temporary Parental Leave, Cash Assistance, Unemployment Benefits, etc. The solution leverages key functionalities for Social Case Management, using SAP CRM and the Public Sector Collection and Disbursement (PSCD) component in SAP ERP. “Social Benefit Decision Making” helps to manage and document all processes of a social benefit delivery case from the receipt of the initial application to the final payment of social benefits.

Check out the Social Services and Social Security - Public Sector - SCN Wiki for more information about this solution.
