In our continuous efforts to simplify and streamline our rapid-deployment solution offering for SAP ERP we have taken further steps now in 2015. This is a continuation of what we started in 2014 and has been published in my previous blog posts SAP ERP Foundation rapid-deployment solution: The new way to package ERP and Rapid-deployment of SAP ERP – Further steps to simplification taken.
What is new? In 2014, we started to apply a new way to package the well-established SAP Best Practices for SAP ERP as a rapid-deployment solution, see blog post above. This was done for those countries which got an upgraded SAP Best Practice baseline V3.607 only. We got positive feedback from our partners as well as our RDS Consulting colleagues about the resulting simplification and flexibilization this new packaging of SAP ERP created. So we decided to use the same concept from now on for all countries which are covered by the SAP Best Practice baselines available for SAP ERP 6.0 EhP7 which allow for a deployment on top of an SAP HANA in-memory database. The result was the reduction of rapid-deployment solutions from 4 to 1. From now on, you do not have to search anymore which package to use based on the country of implementation - as there is only 1 left! This allows a common approach for implementation projects across all geographies we cover with SAP Best Practices.
Other good news is the easier access to the business content of the SAP ERP Foundation rapid-deployment solution. Formerly, the way to access the essential business Content was a long way of clicks via several HTML pages and structures. From now on you simply access our page on the SAP Service Marketplace, select your country of interest and the language (English or local) and you directly see the solution scope the package covers along with the package fact sheet. Since the SAP ERP Foundation rapid-deployment solution covers a broad scope, we have grouped the scope items into groups which can be easily expanded, e.g. Finance and Controlling. Each scope item has its own fact sheet available for you. The screen shot shows the new structure within the SAP Service Marketplace.
All other documentation of the package can be found further down in the HTML page in the “Find out more” and “Did you also see…”section where we also provide links to customer testimonial videos where the SAP ERP Foundation rapid-deployment solution was used for implementing SAP ERP on HANA in the Hana Enterprise Cloud (HEC). If you have a user for the SAP Service Marketplace, another place to further explore is the “Downloads” area where you will find other documents around the package.
I hope you enjoy the further simplification and easier access for SAP ERP Foundation rapid-deployment solution we provided now in 2015!
