On April 6, 2015, I participated ASUG Northern California Chapter as a speaker with the topic "Best Practices for Business Commerce Network Cloud - Ariba Procure-to-Pay as Case Study". I would like to share the agenda and the presentation link here for people who are interested in this topic to take a glance.

The agenda of my topic has three parts:

  • Business Commerce Network Cloud
  • Best Practices for Networked Economy
  • Case Study: Ariba Procure-to-Pay

SAP is promoting the largest business commerce network in the cloud, enabling flows of goods and services, money, transaction data, trading partner collaboration in a cloud-based trading network. This networked ecosystem provides the platform for the business entities to conduct businesses between each other. With Ariba, followed by Fieldglass, then Concur, the business networks link people, process, data, and money in cloud, in a collaborative way, and make the transaction flows involving all business spend types for goods and services happen unprecedentedly.

Cloud should be simple to consume, easy to use and scale, cost effective to deploy and sustain, and flexible to adjust to customers' requirements. In the highly competitive market, well defined solutions and best practices are critical to make products and services more acceptable by customers and increase customer satisfaction. It needs innovative and integrated thinking and practices.

Using business commerce cloud, specifically Ariba Procure-to-Pay as case study, it elaborates why best practices make difference, and how that will help customers to benefit from proven, streamlined, yet flexible best practices and solutions to increase transparency, reduce time to transaction, and increase time to value, which leads to maximum adoption and consumption of business network cloud offerings.
