Hey TechEd fans!

I had the pleasure to present the lecture DMM108 - Real-Time Data Replication with SAP Landscape Transformation Replication Server at TechEd Las Vegas, Berlin and Bangalore. So some of you already know me. I am product manager for this lovely replication tool and would like to re-introduce the session as part of the #SAPTechED Lecture of the Week series.

The focus of this lecture was to give an overview on the technology behind SAP LT Replication Server (aka “SLT” - and do not mix it up with SAP Replication Server, this is another tool, formerly Sybase Rep Server) and illustrate the different use cases. SLT became big with the native HANA replication scenario and is the default real-time replication solution. Beside the known HANA scneario SLT also covers real-time and delta replication into SAP BW, Data Services, ABAP & non-ABAP. But I would suggest, grab a tea or coffee and enjoy the lecture:

A lot was done in the SLT area since TechEd. More and more customers are asking for the BW scenario to replace their extractors. My colleague astrid.tschense-oesterle created a blog and a demo for the SLT and BW scneario - take few minutes and have a look:

Blog: SAP LT Replication Server integration with Operational Data Provisioning

Demo: Realtime Replication with SLT into Data Store Objects in SAP BW 7.4

With the launch of SAP Simple Finance, a complete new use case was born. With the version SP08, SLT became the unique replication engine to feed the new SAP Central Finance scenario. The key difference is that SLT will directly communicate with the SAP Simple Finance application and not on DB layer.

Here are some more details:

TechEd 2015? - Yes, we are back! We plan for a lecture, two hands-on session (HANA & BW), a roadmap and several expert sessions to show you the future direction and latest features. We are looking forward to see you!

Tobias on behalf of the SLT product managemnt and development team
