Looking deeper and wider seems to be the theme when it comes to mobilizing the business. The video below covers three different scenarios. Here's my brief summary.
Dive deep into specific line of business needs to find specific opportunities. There is a CRM scenario which challenges you to find the value rather than broadly implement mobile solutions. In this case, they point to reduced shipping cycles, more efficient invoicing, and increased customer satisfaction. Sounds reasonable. Still, I'd rather hear from those of you out there with real-world examples to share about how you helped a line of business mobilize portions of their business process with amazing results.
Get granular to find the productivity and efficiency benefits in workflow. Pull apart your workflows and find out what makes sense to mobilize. Here they paint a scenario where a project manager is on a flight that is about to taxi to take off. Is the project manager enabled through her mobile device to provide approval for a task step? I can see value in that, but I believe there must be better examples of this type of specific mobilized workflow task that demonstrates significant value to a business. Please share if you have any in mind.
Understanding the effects of information technology (IT) on your brand is key as mobility pushes IT to the boundaries of your organization. They provide a few cool examples based on direct interactions with people on color selections from makeup to house paint to gourmet foods to custom pools. Anyone have an example of IT having a direct impact on a brand?
