Perhaps one of the most puzzling aspects of using technology in business is gaining an understanding of how in-memory technology can solve myriad business challenges. In-memory is a well-circulated buzzword, but it is also a valuable business asset and the way of the future. Understanding and implementing in-memory technology can streamline business functions and result in better, more efficient processes.

To understand more, it requires taking a deeper look into what in-memory technology is and the type of challenges it can solve.

To define the concept, in-memory computing refers to the storage of information in the main random access memory (RAM) of dedicated servers rather than in complicated relational databases, which operate on comparatively slow disk drives. In other words, the information is stored remotely and it can be queried quickly to yield results.

SAP offers SAP HANA as an in-memory solution. In its most basic definition, SAP HANA is a robust and powerful in-memory information processing platform. Its power is apparent in its ability to mine through billions of rows of data to answer a query in mere seconds instead of days (and can be installed and integrated quite quickly using SAP Rapid Deployment solutions). It also has the ability to mine through both structured and unstructured data sources (for instance, organized data from a database and data collected from sources such as social media outlets). The data sets can be pulled from various sources and integrated with other business solutions such as CRM and ERP.

Committing to a data processing platform is the first step toward streamlining business operations and once a company is invested in such a functional processing tool, the key is to maximize its capabilities and ensure that it performs in a way to maximize business results. This requires understanding what the platform needs to do, and how to do it.

A huge benefit of SAP HANA is that the platform will support transactions and other features that applications such as ERP need to produce the best results. SAP HANA allows its ERP and CRM (and other applications), and its data warehouse and business intelligence systems to aggregate into one database. This data integration helps businesses get the information they need and be able to apply it for decision making.

In addition, SAP HANA has a variety of features for information modeling and application development that incorporate lessons they’ve learned from the past 40 years of computing. SAP Services can provide the guidance and expertise to take advantage of the SAP HANA platform and completely transform a business.

SAP Services is dedicated to the successful deployment of the SAP HANA platform and will help ensure that a company plans, deploys, and uses the platform to deliver value across the organization. Any assistance with planning, building, and using applications running on SAP HANA can be addressed.

Bottom line – SAP Services won’t leave you hanging, they will be there to help.
