There are many considerations when planning a deployment of SAP products and solutions. Some of those considerations are related to the business requirements, such as business process optimization or standardization, while some are related to IT, such as procuring hardware, installing software and packaged content, managing system downtime and maintaining on premise applications once the solutions are deployed. Many of the IT related tasks and how we approach driving those tasks can be rethought when considering a move to SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud. The goal of HANA Enterprise Cloud is to reduce the complexity related to common technical tasks, so that our customers can dedicate more effort to helping provide the right business solutions for the end users.

As an example if a customer wants to deploy SAP CRM on SAP HANA in the cloud. With an HEC deployment some of this work is simplified because the complexity is managed behind the scenes within the HANA Enterprise Cloud infrastructure. It is still important to work through the functional and business specific reporting requirements, but by leveraging HEC, the commodity technical work streams are packaged in a way that simplifies and expedites set up and configuration of the applications.

Not only does this reduce in complexity relate to start-up investment, but it also helps manage residual tasks such as application maintenance and on-going support.
